Why COMAND soil? Most yards here are builder fill and native sand — not soil.

Builder fill and sandy native soil drain water in minutes and hold almost no nutrients. Under new sod, that means the rootzone dries out between waterings, fertilizer washes through, and thin or stressed areas can show while roots are still establishing.

COMAND is a composted soil builder that holds many times its weight in water. Blending it into the top 6 inches adds organic matter and moisture-holding capacity to the rootzone before your sod is ever laid.
